Message from Will Hobbs

To my Spirit of Reading Friends:

Hello up there, this is Will Hobbs, back home in southwestern Colorado after a fantastic week in southeast Alaska to kick off your 2010-2011 Alaska Spirit of Reading program. I had a fantastic week with my readers in Ketchikan, Sitka, and Juneau, at their schools and their public libraries. I'm honored that kids around the state are reading three of my "North" titles this year through this great program. Leaving Protection and Wild Man Island take place in Alaska, and Far North takes place in the Northwest Territories of Canada.  I invite you to visit my website www.willhobbsauthor.com where you'll find an interview plus photos for those three and all my other novels. Have a great winter and GO BIG WITH READING!

I thought that Will Hobbs coming to our school was really awesome, because we were able to have an author come and visit our school!! I enjoyed listening to Will Hobbs tell us about books that he's working on and has written. Now all I want to do do is buy them all and read them too!! I think Will Hobbs writes really cool books because they are all based on things that happen in real life!! I hope we can have more authors come and visit us soon!! Thanks, Anja!

The coolest part about Will Hobbs visit was his insperation to write Leaving Protection. The story was told so well that I felt like I was right there watching Robbie working the pit of the Storm Petrel. I think Will is a true writer because he got the tolling experience working on the Jullie Christene. Trolling can be dangerous, so I am suprised he would go out trolling in the ocean, which in other words is the middle of nowere. That was the coolest part about Wills of the visit.

I thought the coolest thing about Will Hobbs' visit was that it was interesting. He said a lot of interesting things about his books. Will Hobbs likes to talk a lot about his books. That day he came to school I thought he was a very intersting man so I went to the library that day I heard that he was going to talk more about his books. I like all his stories but I'm still not done reading Leaving Pertection. I think that his books are awesome.
