Hello Students
I am so honored to be communicating with all of you. I was glad to hear you had chosen Touching Spirit Bear as your common book to read. That is one of my favorite books because it is kind of my own emotional autobiography. At one point in my life I was teased like Peter. At another time, I became a bully like Cole. But there came a day when I discovered that life was really special if we treat it special. Then I like to think I became like Edwin and Garvey.
I want to encourage all of you to take the lessons from Touching Spirit Bear to make your own life stories better. If you do that, you will have honored yourselves. You guys are the ones who count!!!!
Hopefully I'll be able to blog more with you later.

It's been nice for you to come up here. I had a nice time listening to your book on audio tape, and listening to your story when you were young. The picnic was fun, especially when Liam soaked in the ocean. I hope you had a nice time here in Sitka, and good luck with your next book, whatever it may be.

Thank you for coming to our school and telling us about yourself. I really enjoyed it a lot. I really like that book, "Touching Spirit Bear". I thought it was a really good book. I really think it would be a nice book for people that are going through troubles in there life.

Hi I am a 12 year old named Brady. I just wanted to let you know that you are so cool. I liked the pictures of you and Buffy. Buffy is a cool bear with a cool name. You on the other hand are one of the best writers I have ever known. Ben rocks.

I loved the book touching spirit bear. I would love to go to an island for a year just to get away from everybody. But I didn't get to finish the end.

Hello sorry i wasn't there to see the presentation in the library cause I was in shop and Mr. Akinson had us stay in class but I heard that it was really good and i would have liked to see it. I liked the Touching Spirit Bear book and thanks for writing it. From JD.

Hey Ben,thank you so much for giving a presentation to us!I loved your slide show.It was cool expesaly the pictures of you and your bear. It would be really cool to have a pet bear, but I know know that it is kinda bad to have a pet animal that should be in the wild, because it can never go out on its own.I loved the book petey. It made me feel like i was in the book. I liked how you did that.I sure hope you publish a couple of more books because I would love to read them.

Thank you for coming to my school and sharing your wisdom. I loved your book Petey because I never knew about cerebal palsy.I hope you had a great day when you were visiting Blatchley Middle School in Sitka Alaska. You have inspired me just that one presentation when you came to Blatchley.
